This is a collaboration between curiosity lab and ELN. A project which uses location based technology and augmented reality for mobile devices along with digital storytelling, identity, genealogy, personal branding and tee shirt design.
Aim
This part digital storytelling, part locative game and is designed to foster collaboration, build empathy, enhance ICT and communication skills. It will inspire the designer in all of us and connect participants with many cultures, subcultures and communities. Participants confront stereotypes, gender, race and many other things that can impact one’s identity.
Outcomes
Participants have a Identi-Tee Shirt and rich media (Digital Artifact) as an Augmented Reality (AR) layer which becomes part of the ongoing Identi-Tee exhibition around Melbourne’s cultural institutions.
Social Learning
We are committed to collaboration and using social media for learning, so we have our very own Edmodo group and associated 21st century skills badges that teachers and students can join. Request access to the Identi-Tee Project Edmodo group here.
Technologies
Victorian Essentials Learning Standards
The Identi-Tee Project meets many of the focuses on domains from the Victorian Curriculum and Standards and helps participants develop their self confidence, emerging autonomy, inter-dependence, resilience and sense of agency.
Scholarship program
We are committed to digital inclusion and reducing the digital divide. If you know of financially or learning disadvantaged young people who you believe could benefit from an Elastic Learning Network experience, do get in touch. We will do our best make arrangements to provide free access to most of our learning experiences and supply mobile devices for the event. Please do give us plenty of prior notice. A special thank you to Motorola Mobility Australia for providing us with some XOOM tablets and smart phones.
School and Youth Group bookings
If you’d like to bring a group and have them participate then get in touch.
